ENLUXTRA™- R Roll Wound Dressing
Enluxtra-R is recommended for use on large, multiple or circumferential wounds. It effectively improves the condition of wounds of any etiology, including bleeding wounds, venous leg ulcers, and, most notably, lymphedema, as well as acute, traumatic or burn wounds on arms, legs, the head, or the torso.
Enluxtra-R should be used in situations where it is difficult to achieve coverage and good contact with wound bed using regular dressings.
Other indications include extensive skin areas with moisture-associated damage and odor-causing fluids that show no improvement when regular dressings are used.
Instead of taping several square dressings together to cover the wound, Enluxtra-R is wrapped around the relevant body part and secured with provided seam tape.
Enluxtra-R is supplied in a sterile foil package as a rolled up strip.

HELPFUL INSTRUCTIONS:
IMPORTANT!! Discomfort, pain and visual inspection of the backing of Enluxtra-R should guide the necessity of dressing replacement. The general rule is to change Enluxtra-R dressing when the exudate, visible through the backing film, reaches the edge of the dressing and/or if a patient experiences unusual wound site pain or discomfort.
Visually inspect the backing of the dressing after 2-3 days, and change it if the exudate has reached the dressing edge.
• If Enluxtra-R's backing film is obstructed and is not visible, remove the outer layers to check the spread of drainage.
• If the outer layers cannot be removed, follow the prescription orders and leave the dressing in place unless there is pain or any unusual discomfort.
• If the patient complains about unusual pain or discomfort, change the dressing sooner than scheduled.
When to discontinue Enluxtra-R dressing
Enluxtra-R should be used as indicated. It usually requires a single application and should be discontinued when the following conditions are satisfied:
• Moisture-associated skin damage is under control
• Peri-wound areas show signs of improvement
• Wound drainage is under control
• Wound and peri-wound skin can be covered with a regular dressing with good wound bed contact and a minimum of 3/4" overlap onto healthy skin
Once the above conditions are satisfied, regular square Enluxtra dressings may be used instead of Enluxtra-R. However, a second application of Enluxtra-R may be needed if an extensive area still requires exudative drainage control, or if close contact with wound bed can only be achieved with Enluxtra-R.
How to address special situations
• If itching, unusual pain and discomfort occur, remove the dressing and notify the physician.
• Cold or bluish toes may indicate reduced circulation. Always follow safe practices for applying compression.
Enluxtra-R is commercially available nationwide.
